CardXX's powerful electronics packaging technology has the capability to produce key fobs, contactless cards, and other RF-based tokens in a variety of form factors for this rapidly growing market. The versatility of CardXX technology is highlighted by our capability to produce innovative “utility” key fobs that that serve as a tool (e.g. a bottle opener) and that are equipped with an RF-chip. These “utility fobs” require complex geometries and unusual form factors for which the CardXX RAMP process is ideally suited. Our patented technology enables mass production of key fobs and other RF-equipped devices in an extraordinarily wide variety of form factors (e.g. in the shape of a guitar for a music store) that facilitate brand-awareness and consumer loyalty.
CardXX is also producing miniature Contactless Modules for integration with Cell Phones for Mobile Commerce applications. These Contactless Modules are made in a very small form factor designed to fit within a conventional cellular handset, and they function just like the ExxonMobile SpeedPass ™ and the American Express ExpressPay ™ cards that allow consumers to “pay with a wave”. The strong growth anticipated in the “Mobile Commerce” market is expected to lead to tens of millions of contactless payment-equipped cell phones by 2006 (“Mobile Payments: What are they worth?, Press Release, The Yankee Group, Oct. 18, 2003 ).
